CUBS DO ARCHAEOLOGY June 11-15 or June 18-22, 9:00-Noon
Ever wonder how artifacts get to museums? You’re in luck! We’re looking for some archaeologists to help uncover some of Mount Carmel’s past! Join us this summer as we don’t just learn about the past – but uncover it too! Our camp archaeologists will dig their way through the summer by uncovering artifacts, cataloging findings, forming hypotheses, and then presenting their findings in our weekly Research Symposium (parents and friends welcome!). This camp is perfect for all young and inquisitive future scientists who are ready to dig into some fun this summer.
CUBS ON COMPUTERS June 25-29, 9:00-Noon Cubs on Computers campers will have fun as they explore the uses of Apple MAC computers, software and apps as well as learn how apps are created. Campers will be introduced to the iMacs, MacBooks, and iPads. Campers will also learn basic coding using block based visual programming. We will be creating interactive stories, designing animation, and making mini games using code and our imaginations! No computer or coding experience is required.
CSI-MCA June 18-22, 9:00-12:00 or 1:00-4:00
Campers will work as part of an elite team of investigators to help solve a crime. Campers will gain experience in evidence gathering and testing techniques. Forensic dogs from ATF will visit and their duties will be demonstrated. Campers will perform hair, synthetic blood typing, and DNA analysis. Fingerprint analysis is taught by a retired expert in the field. At the end of the week, campers will use their knowledge and skill to solve a crime.
iCAM PHOTOGRAPHY CAMP June 25-29, 1:00-4:00
Immerse yourself in digital photography as we focus on looking at the world around you in a creative new way! Prepare to learn more about the functions of a camera to help you capture exciting photos in the field. Campers will then take their photos to the editing room where they will learn how to creatively develop their shots and experience the digital printing process as they print multiple photos! Join us as a new or experienced photographer to learn skills and take your photos from ordinary to extraordinary! (Please note: cameras will be provided for all campers.)
MAKERBOT MAGIC I June 11-15, 1:00-4:00
Have you ever 3-D printed your very own creation? Students will use cutting-edge technology in our Maker Lab to transform an idea on paper into a 3-D model that is then brought to life with a 3-D printer! Students will learn all aspects of design, from sketching to 3-D modeling, and will get to take their fun creations home. From accessories to toys and everything in between, campers will create jaw-dropping designs in our 3-D printing camp! Let’s make your creative ideas a reality!

More MakerBot Magic Campers will continue working in 3-D design and printing to create more complicated pieces with a cool 3-D challenge and real life applications. MakerBot I (or prior 3-D design experience) recommended since some prior design knowledge will enhance your success in this camp.
THE WIZARDING WORLD OF HARRY POTTER June 4-8 or June 18-22, 1:00-4:00 or June 25-29, 9:00-12:00 Spend a week this summer in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Get tips from Olivander as you learn to make your own magic wand. Join us as we make butterbeer and chocolate frogs for snacks. Brew up your own potions under the guidance of the Half Blood Prince. Take flight and show off your skills in the Quiddich World Cup! If you're looking to get away this summer on magical adventure, this is the camp for you!
